Mai Oie is a ceramic artist from Kanazawa, Ishikawa. Her works embody a beautiful combination of mastery in ceramic work and painting. Her style is a unique blend of rococo style with nihonga sensibility. Mai paints wonderful portraits of birds, rabbits, dragons, and countless other animals within the windows of her works.

Mai completed the courses at the Ishikawa Prefectural Kutani Ware Technical Training Institute. Her works were selected for its permanent collection. She currently lives in Nomi, Ishikawa, where she continues her practice. She has exhibited throughout Japan and has several prestigious awards. She has been a recurring participant at the Kogei fair in Kanazawa.
